The Labour Market Monitor is an overview of the Toronto Economic Region including the City of Toronto, and the regional municipalities of Durham, York, Peel and Halton. This monthly report is produced by the local area Labour Market Information Analyst.
Labour Force Trends:
Labour Force Trends – Ontario employment rebounded in November with a gain of 16,600 jobs:
- An increase of 31,800 full-time jobs was partially offset by a decrease of 15,200 part-time positions
- The unemployment rate declined to 7.9% as the number of unemployed people decreased
- The unemployment rate for youth aged 15-24 was 15.1% in November, down from 16.4% in November 2010
