FAQ- Volunteering at Caledon Community Services

How do I get started volunteering?
The first step in volunteering is to attend an information and orientation session. During the session, you will have the opportunity to learn about our various programs as well as the different volunteer positions available. You will also have an opportunity to complete the application process and meet one on one with a member of the Volunteer & Community Relations team to discuss where you might be best suited to volunteer within the organization.

Where and when are the information sessions?
Information sessions occur several times each month. They are held at our head office at 18 King Street East in Bolton, and at Chez Thrift at 301 Queen Street South in Bolton. For a listing of upcoming information sessions, please click here. If you would like to attend an information session or have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call the Caledon Community Services Volunteer & Community Relations Department directly.

What types of volunteer positions are available?
Volunteers take on many tasks including processing donations at CCS stores, providing rides for those in need, working on a special events committee, assisting with job searches, administration assistance, mentoring and companionship roles, business development and much, much more!

I’m very interested in volunteering my time, unfortunately, I don’t have much of it, can I still be of use?
Yes! We are dedicated to creating a volunteer experience that can meet the active demands of today's lifestyle. All of our volunteer positions can be tailored to meet even the busiest of schedules and seasonal availability.

How old do I have to be to volunteer?
Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older. Younger volunteers are welcome providing they are accompanied by an adult.

Do I need previous experience in the program/service I wish to volunteer in?
No, we welcome all new volunteers to all our programs and will provide appropriate training as needed.
